On December 13, 2006, we spent a glorious day touring the Kennedy Space Center. There are several levels of tour pass available; we opted for the one that includes close-up approaches by bus to the shuttle launch facilities. Much of the afternoon was rainy, but we were still thrilled with what we were able to see and do. No matter how many times you've seen these facilities in TV documentaries, there is nothing quite like actually being there.

We were particularly impressed with the newly-renovated Apollo and Saturn V exhibit halls, which are on a par with the Smithsonian in terms of exhibit quality.
